The 4th and 5th grade students are studying the stock market and learning a plethora of information about how the markets work, how to pick stocks, how to build wealth, and personal finance, and budgeting. This unit is all about connections to the real world and the students are loving it.
American Footprints-Second Unit of Study for Third Grade (approximately 10 weeks), December-February
American Footprints, the second unit of study for fourth and fifth grades, is about great Americans who left "footprints" on America, thereby changing, defining, and moving American forward to becoming a better place for its citizens.
The students are discovering not only discovering who these Americans are and their impact on American life as they know it, but qualities of greatness. Through the use of role play, research, hands on creation, and technology, the students are learning how they can become great Americans and use their skills and interests to become the next great American to leave their "footprints" on society.

Week of January 20, 2014: SAT words-write the definitions and use each word in a sentence; there will be a spelling and definition quiz this week in each class.
